Coming to Take Us to Chicago
Prospect of good flying weather.
On the 738 from ORD to DIA
Here we're getting close to DIA. Nice flight
Beautiful flowers greeted us in Fort Collins
and more to come.
Decisions, decisions.
The next morning, Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market in downtown Ft. Collins. This little guy wanted something and mother was trying to talk him into something else.
Love, Peace and Little Donuts.
Of course we had to have some sweets. This little place was very busy, and after having some of the sweets I can see why. We four polished this dozen off quickly.
Narrow Hallway.
This was a narrow hallway between buildings to get from the parking lot in back to the front door of the doughnut shop.
Utility Box in Ft. Collins
All that we've seen are painted in some way and certainly are much better than a plain drab green color most others are.
Jazzed Up Piano
Went to the Lincoln Center for Arts in the afternoon on Saturday. Saw a wonderful quilt display, and this funky painted piano sitting in the lobby.
Anita at Quilt Show
Awesome quilts everywhere one turned.
White Rose
Lar's gardens all around the house have beautiful flowers as well as veges. This white rose was very striking.
Red Rose--
One of the prominent colors in the front garden.
Walk In Neighborhood
After dinner all went for a leisurely walk in the neightborhood.
Huge Squash Blossom.
Early Sunday morning with the sun shining, the squash had all opened, and the bees and wasps were busy gathering goodies.
Day Lilies
These late season hybrids were out in force.
Lunch at Lorry State Park
Had a picnic lunch under this shelter. Then took family picture, and then went for a hike to the reservoir. (Couple of following pictures.)
Down to Reservoir
This is the backside of the Horsetooth Reservoir.
Stella Chasing Sticks in the Water
This is Doug's dog who loves chasing sticks anywhere, especially the water on a hot day.
Back of Horsetooth Reservoir at Lorry State Park
This reservoir is the water source of Fort Collins.
Dinner--Pizza and Cheesecake Dessert.
Almost all three pizzas were gobbled up quickly.
Breakfast at The Rainbow
Breakfast burritos were popular. I had pancakes. Left Ft. Collins right after this with Tim and Anita, heading west by car.
Lunch in Lander Wyoming at Gannett Bar & Grill
Delicious, but very salty from Barb and I.
String Lake
South of Jenny Lake--small, flows into Jenny.
