Birch Lake
There's a small Roadside Park off US 31, in Kewadin that has the lake available. Beautiful tranquil spot to have lunch.
Mackinaw Bridge
Close up of the North Tower. Always a lot of painting going on as there was today.
View of the bridge from Straits State Park
We stayed the night at this park. Had a leisurely breakfast and then left for St. Ignace main street.
Barb
Did some hiking around the State Park--this spot had an excellent view of the bridge.
Mackinaw Grill
We parked in their parking lot and then walked around town, since we had a bit of time before lunch here.
City Park
Walked down the boardwalk to the Ace Hardware store. Found several things there we've been looking for.
Tansey
Along the boardwalk next to the lake. Haven't seen this much in a long time.
Helga at Mackinaw Grill
Met she and Chuck there -- they were just going in as we were walking back from the hardware store. Had a delicious pancake lunch--only it was huge and I couldn't eat it all.
Going South Over the Bridge
Left St. Ignace and drove down to Charlevoix.
Downtown Charlevoix
Busy as usual during tourist season--and especially this weekend because of Sidewalk Sales days.
Phil Schairbaum Grilling
We had a wonderful stay with Phil and Ginnie, and the food was delicious. So great to see them again.
Ginnie's Fresh Baked Rhubarb Strawberry Pie
Yummmm, yumm.
Stover Creek
Went for a drive to the lake, hoping for a nice sunset, but was very cloudy. This is where Stover Creek enters Lake Michigan. just north of Fisherman's Island.
Approaching Storm
This was just about sunset, but the clouds were too thick.
Barb Picking Raspberries
Went to King's Orchard for some fresh fruit. The red raspberries were delicious.
Basket of Reds
No, we didn't eat them all.
Looking over Round Lake Harbor
Beautiful weather too.
Sunset
Dave and Sara Smith had us all over for a delicious dinner. Finished on time to get to the rooftop of the condo to see the sunset. The best color was just after the sun had set, and as all the boats were coming back into Round Lake.
Early Blue Hour of the Bridge
The bridge had been up to let all the boats back into Round Lake, and here is going back together.
Later Sunset color
