5/1 Sweet Violets
Our lawn in spots has a purplish tinge to it. They are so niced early in the Spring that I hate putting weed killer on them.
5/1 Viburnum
Bud just getting ready to open soon. Beautiful day today--everything is just popping open.
5/1 New Rhododendrum (Hybrid)
This plant was planted about 15 years ago, and this is the first time we've seen flowers on it. The deer have chewed it back every year, so it's still very small.
5/2 Ink Flowers
Had some leftover thick red paint, that I dropped some Thalo Blue acrylic into. Then in one some strong yellow mixed with gesso.
5/2 Yellow Tulip
Great black center markings.
5/3 Silver Dollar Plant
Called that because the seeds are large, flat and translucent with a single seed in the center.
5/4 Red Maple Leaves
Pretty dancing in the afternoon sun.
5/4 Viburnum
Sort of semi hardy, as some years the leaves stay green all winter long. Other years they freeze and turn brown.
5/5 Ornamental Apple Blossoms
At least I think that's what it is. But no leaves out on it yet, so may be something else.
5/5 Early Leaves
Another ornamental tree--don't know which it is yet.
5/6 Unknown Yellow Flower
See also next slide with a view of the leaves, which you can just bearly see in the lower middle edge on this one. Interesting way the petals are arranged--three groups of 3 and a single.
5/6 Leaves of Unknown Yellow Flower
The red dot (UL) shows the stem of the flower shown in the previous slide.
5/6 Sign Of The Times
A painted stone lying against a fire hydrant on our walk tonight.
5/7 Bed of Unknown Yellow Flowers
5/7 The Green Monster
Ink and paint with a very close up image.
5/7 More of Unknown Yellow Flowers
5/8 Yellow Archangel, Lamiastrum galeobdolon
5/10 Mother's Day Tulips
Beautiful flowers from T&A for Barb
5/11 Curly Top
Mayo applied artistically in preparation for a delicioius Turkey & Cheese Sandwich.
5/12 Ornamental Cherry Blossoms
This tree is going to be ablaze with mostly white blossoms in a few days--especially when the weather warms up.
5/12 Dwarf Yellow Iris
And it always blooms early. Much more blooms this year.
