  • 8/3 Lawn Damage from Caged Raccoon

8/3 Lawn Damage from Caged Raccoon

Caught the little stinker that was tearing down our bird feeder every night. The culmination was when he must have gotten caught in the fence around our garden and tore the back part.

  • 8/3 Gladiolus

    8/3 Gladiolus

This is the same flower that I showed the bud on July 31. Very pretty.

  • 8/4 Down But Not Out

    8/4 Down But Not Out

This poor bunch of milkweeds was hit by some large animal--I won't say a name--a couple in the back are leaning, and this one in front on the pavement. There must still be some connection to the stem as it has apeared viable--especially on the top.

  • 8/5 Slime Mold

    8/5 Slime Mold

    8/12 Glistening Fence

We have a black plastic fence around our garden that occaionally gets torn--like last week when a raccoon got caught in it. This was the extra left hanging after we repaired the fence. The low afternoon sun just made it sparkle.

  • 8/13 Jewelweed Flower

    8/13 Jewelweed Flower

This is the spotted variety, also called Touch-Me-Not weeds because the seed pods spring open when touched, scattering the seeds widely. They grow in moist shady areas.
